Introduction

Slogan: Fate brought us together in Jackson Hole, and we will sing our weekends away! Sing to our heart’s content and sing with gusto!

The Orenda Choir was founded in November 2015. Headed by Li Tongguo, a famous conductor and a former Central Orchestra tenor, the club gathered a group of singing and choir enthusiasts. The club meets once a week for vocal training and rehearsal. Through their activities, the club strives to build up physical fitness, improve singing skills, promote interaction and friendship among its members, participate actively in cultural activities within the settlement, raise the prestige of the Jackson Hole community and contribute towards building a harmonious and happy Jackson Hole. The club has become a home to the singing and choir enthusiasts in Jackson Hole, and here, members feel a deep sense of belonging. The choir boasts over a hundred WeChat members, and more than fifty core members, and aspires to become a critically acclaimed choir renowned both domestically and internationally.

Development

History:

The choir made its debut on November 26, 2015 at the Shuangxiu Lifestyle Museum, and the “Orenda Choir” was formally founded.

On January 16, 2016, the choir was invited to perform at the Owners’ New Year’s Gala at Jackson Hole, making its first public performance as the Orenda Choir.

On July 30, 2016, the Orenda Choir collaborated with the Qingdao Star Choir to present its first concert, the "Orenda Cappella Concert".

On May 20, 2017, the choir collaborated with Beijing Foreign Studies University to present a classical choral concert titled "Melodies in My Memories".

On July 22, 2017, the Orenda Choir presented the “Summer night’s Sky” choral concert.

On August 24, 2017, Orenda Choir headed to Qindao for an exchange program and performance.

On November 4, 2017, the Orenda Choir presented the "Winter Voices" choral concert.

On December 31, 2017, the Orenda Choir held the New Year's Concert.

Achievements:

Since its establishment, the choir grew rapidly and now boasts over a hundred settlement members with fifty core members. Their repertoire include over twenty beautiful songs, including "Tribute to the Red Flag", "The Crescent Rises", “Countryside Road”, "The Everest", "Bless our Motherland", “Song of the Guerilla Force”, "Grassland - My Beautiful Home", “The Golden Cloud Spent the Night”, “Guerilla”, “Chairman Mao is With Us”, “Me and My Motherland”, “Deep Ocean”, "Heavenly Path", “Jasmine”, "Which Side of the Forest", “Glorious China Dream” and “Snowflakes”, etc. The choir also wrote, directed and performed the critically acclaimed “Jackson Hole”, which wowed the Orenda settlers.

Milestones
